China's Shandong province resumes intercity bus service

Shandong Province, located on the east coast of China, restored intercity bus service against the background of the improvement of the situation with coronavirus in the region, reported on March 11 agency Xinhua. Bus terminals throughout the province became once again available to the public. Passenger routes to rural areas of the province have also been restored, the local Department of Transport said. Despite the restoration of traffic, buses are still prohibited from stopping in areas of high epidemiological risk. A special circular prohibits buses from carrying passengers who have been to Hubei Province, the epicentre of the coronavirus epidemic. Those who are under 14 days quarantine or cannot clearly explain where they have been in recent weeks will not be able to use transport services. Bus services between Beijing and Hubei have yet to resume. On 7 March, Shandong Province reportedly reduced the level of emergency response from the first to the second due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the region.
