Between coronavirus and mosquitoes: is there a way out of the epidemic trap? - Vladimir Pavlenko
The coronavirus pandemic, which hit the United States and Europe the hardest, is already being compared to World War II in its destruction. First, on March 23, the corresponding crisis of this level was declared in Italy, and now this is already said by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leien. US President Donald Trump is confused in his testimony. Whether he was informed of the threat of an epidemic, but he did not take it as a real threat. Whether he took it, but did not want to balamute the population. Whether he wanted to do it, and the response system turned out to be unprepared or simply engaged in reflection of the impeachment, at the end of which with the head dipped into the election struggle. Although it is already clear that the outcome of the US election, if it comes to voting without falling into the tailspin of a complete social and state collapse, will be determined not by party congresses and rallies of supporters of the main candidates, but by epidemiological statistics. What rate will decrease (if there is) the number of sick and whether it will be possible to curb the galloping no, gentlemen liberals, the inflation you do not like. And mortality, which is high not only in the United States, but in all Western countries, poses a much more serious challenge to democracy there than confrontation with the East in both the first, post-war, and present, second, cold wars.
