Kosovo and Albania sign EU accession support agreement


On 24 April, the Minister of European Integration of Kosovo, Blerim Reka, signed a mutual support agreement in preparation for the opening and negotiation of EU accession with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry. According to the Ministry, this agreement involves the exchange of experience in the process of European integration, which is particularly relevant in connection with the early start of negotiations on Albania's accession to the EU. The Treaty envisages the establishment of negotiating structures for accession negotiations, the establishment of inter-institutional working groups in preparation for individual chapters of accession negotiations, the exchange of experience on the procedure for screening the legislation of its analysis for compliance with EU legislation, etc. It is noted that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the agreement was signed remotely.
