In Sierra Leone, protesters set fire to prison
A warden was killed and several injured in riots at Pademba Road prison in Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown. The prison was set on fire. This is reported by the Air Force Africa. According to journalists of the TV and radio company, the prisoners made a massive attempt to escape after the recently arrived prison had symptoms of coronavirus infection. Reporters note that Pademba Road prison is designed for about 300 inmates, but it currently houses more than 1,000 people. Criminal hearings in Sierra Leone were suspended for a month to stop the spread of coronavirus in prisons. In Sierra Leone, 104 cases of coronavirus infection and four fatal cases were confirmed.
