Toyota is developing a battery with a fast charging function

Japanese automaker Toyota has created a working prototype of a car with a solid-state battery with a fast charging function. This was reported by Automotive News. A car with an innovative battery was supposed to be presented at the Olympic Games this summer. However, the coronavirus pandemic prevented these plans. The solid-state battery is still under development. The automaker needs to solve the problem with safety and increasing the battery life cycle. The fact is that after recharging, the batteries often fail. The advantage of solid-state batteries is that they charge faster and have a high energy density. Thus, a car with such a battery on one charge can travel a longer distance than a similar vehicle with a lithium-ion battery of the same size. A working version of the solid-state battery will appear in 2025. Earlier, a limousine based on the Toyota RAV4 crossover was created at the factory of the Japanese company Toyota.
