5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Vanuatu
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Republic of Vanuatu, Xinhua news agency reported on May 30. The quake was recorded 84 miles from Port Vila at 4:13 p.m. GMT, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 8.72 km at the coordinates of 17.446 degrees south latitude and 167.5803 degrees east longitude. It should be noted that Vanuatu is a Pacific state in Melanesia, bordering on the north with the waters of the Solomon Islands and on the west with the economic zone of Australia.
