Putin and Lukashenko landed spruce near Rzhev
Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko landed next to the Rzhev memorial to a Soviet soldier. On June 30, leaders opened a memorial at a ceremony. Planted trees are designed to perpetuate the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War. The international action Garden of Remembrance was proposed to hold the public movement Victory Volunteers and the Victory Commanders Memorial Fund. It is assumed that 27 million trees will be planted as part of the action. According to the news agency, earlier on June 30, the heads of Russia and Belarus laid flowers at the Rzhevsky memorial.
